I am a journalist/editor based in Bangalore/Mumbai. I usually write about current affairs, human rights, the arts and people. My features have appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, Sunday People, the Daily Mirror, Time, the South China Morning Post, Womensenews, the Daily Telegraph, the Hindustan Times, Grazia India, Mint, Asiaweek (part of Time Warner, though now defunct) , the Far Eastern Economic Review, and many others. I wrote a regular travel column on Mumbai for Globespotters, the travel section of the New York Times, between 2008 to 2010. I currently write a regular column on parenting for First Post (part of CNN-IBN). For recent samples of my work, please see the menu at the right. I also offer editing services, and specialise in working with non-native speakers of English. Clients have included Asiaweek ( part of Time Warner), the Swiss Banking Corporation, the Oxford University Press and Sweet and Maxwell. I occasionally conduct courses on freelance journalism for journalism students, or those with some experience of journalism. ( Courses can only be conducted for a group at a venue provided, and not on a one-to-one basis) I have conducted my courses at the Times School of Journalism, Sophia Polytechnic, and the Kala Ghoda Literary Festival.
