I have conducted my "Introduction to Freelance Journalism" workshop at the Times School of Journalism (Mumbai), Sophia Polytechnic (Mumbai), the Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media (Bangalore)  and the Kala Ghoda festival. My one-day workshop helps beginners learn:

  • What a freelance journalist actually does
  • How to find stories and markets
  • How to pitch editors
  • How to negotiate pay and rights
  • How to deal with rejection
  • Common mistakes beginners make
  • How to write for the foreign media
